Session 1: Cyber & Construction Workforce Reentry Roundtable

Overview: Take part in conversation with government leaders, reentry program coordinators, technology executives.  Discuss ideas to address the nation’s cyber and construction workforce shortages and the surge in violence by providing cyber education, construction skills training, coaching, mentorship and job placement for incarcerated young adults. What are the challenges for such programs?  Where are possible resources to support this work? Share and hear about reentry program successes.

Theme: What Investment Is Needed To Build A Pipeline Of Cyber & Construction Workers To Protect Our Nation. 

Overview: Cyber threats to our nation are rising. To protect our nation we need thousands and thousands more cyber workers. If ensuring the resiliency and energy infrastructure is a top priority, what investment must be made to create a pipeline of cyber workers to accomplish this mission?  Participate in a conversation to discuss the investments needed to boost the quality and quantity of cyber workers. Opportunities for cyber training funding from recent legislation such as the Inflation Reduction Act, Jobs and Reduction Act, and Chip Act will also be highlighted during the conversation.

Session 3: Technology & Education Leaders Luncheon

Overview: Our country’s health, banking, and energy systems are at risk of being victims of a cyber attack.  To fill the openings for cybersecurity jobs alone, our nation’s education system has to produce an additional 700,000 cyber trained workers.  This conversation seeks to examine what changes, resources and partnerships are needed for our nation’s schools, colleges, and after-school programs to fill the gap.  In addition, speakers will offer views on how the nation can educate more students for cyber jobs when teachers are leaving their field in record numbers.
