What is STEM4US!

STEM4US! is a non-profit organization formed to support colleges, universities, and K-12 schools along with afterschool programs, parents and advocates in training students in STEM. Realizing our nation's shortage in IT workers, as an organization, we have a specific focus on ramping up the numbers and diversity of our country's cybersecurity, data analytics, and artificial intelligence workforce.

History

In December 2012, the White House set a goal to expand STEM grads by 1 million over 10 years (2022)

  • STEM4US! was launched weeks later, in January of 2013

  • Since our founding, STEM4US! has become a nationally recognized voice for STEM through our Capitol Hill STEM Power Lunch TM series and other initiatives

  • STEM4US! hosted its first STEM and Education festival in 2014 in partnership with Pepco

  • In 2017, STEM4US! announced plans to form a consortium to push for a $1B grant to build 100+ cybersecurity training centers at community colleges & HBCUs by 2022

Mission

  • To increase the ranks and diversity of our nation’s cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data analytics workforce.

  • To ensure that at least 50% of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data analytics workers in the US are comprised of African Americans, Latinos, and women by 2040

What makes us unique
