Talib I. Karim is the Executive Director of the STEM4US!. In this post, Talib is responsible for managing STEM4US!’s team to achieve the mission of exciting the nation about STEM careers and helping to create 1 million more STEM professionals by 2023. Talib also leads a consulting firm that offers government relations and technology solutions for non-profits, businesses, and governments. A lawyer and engineer by training, he previously served as the chief counsel for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee where he focused on health and technology issues. In addition, as a senior counsel with the U.S. House of Representatives Veterans Affairs Committee, Talib help lead investigations into ending the backlog of veterans disability benefit claims. Talib’s professional career began as a quality and manufacturing engineer at Ford Motor Company. He started his college studies majoring in astronautical engineering at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Ultimately, Talib earned both a B.S. in mechanical engineering and J.D. from Howard University.
